Rutgers Preparatory School faculty works alongside our students during the years that span Middle School - a remarkable time in youngsters' lives both developmentally and intellectually. Through the Advisory Program, faculty members form teams with a small group of students in 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade. Advisors act as advocates for their students, connecting each child's teachers, coaches, and activity leaders into one point of contact for parents. Designed as an orientation to Rutgers Prep as well as a support group, Advisory provides students wtih the opportunity to get to know one another and discuss important social and school issues.
Three times per year on Advisory Days, students participate in team-building projects and games, competing as a group against other advisories. These fun, highly interactive days are conduits for our students to exhibit the enduring values that RPS Middle Schoolers are given the courage to exhibit at PREP: Personal Integrity, Respect, Empathy, and Perseverance.
