College Counseling Quotes

Each of my three children were lucky enough to have had a wonderful, enriched and solely unique high school experience at Rutgers Prep.  If that were not the case, it would have been well worth it for them to attend Rutgers Prep just to have the College Counseling program available to them. Sherry Riggi and Shelley Krause helped navigate my children through the complicated college application process in a way that most people just get to dream about.  Sherry and Shelley were compassionate, patient, knowledgeable and always absolutely available.  They put the "counseling" back into "college counseling" and without their guidance, the very positive outcomes my children achieved would not have been possible.  My husband and I remain very grateful for their help and appreciative of everything they do for the entire Rutgers Prep community. Thank you Sherry and Shelley; thank you very much.

schwartzThough this was our second course negotiating the college admissions process, Ms. Riggi guided us through it presuming nothing- which ensured no mistakes were made.  The attention our son received was truly remarkable and though we know she had many other students to work with, we felt as if we had the same attention that a privately paid college counselor would have given him.   In addition, the input and suggestions were flawless- from the very first meeting in which we chose a course of direction, to subsequent meetings to fine tune that direction, to the most minute detail critiquing essays for content, tone and presentation- ultimately culminating in a very successful outcome with remarkable options.-

We don't know if you heard via the grapevine how things turned out for Adam at Carnegie Mellon. In case you haven't, Adam had a fantastic four years and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi with College and University Honors.  He was also awarded a leadership award, chosen as an Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar, and given honorable mention as the Outstanding Male Undergraduate by the Computing  Research Association. However, the award he is most proud of is the Alan J. Perlis School of Computer Science undergraduate student teaching award. This award is decided by votes received from the students and approval from the faculty (Adam was a teaching assistant for three classes his last semester, one of which he had designed).

So what lies ahead for him? Well, he was accepted to CMU, Stanford, MIT, and the University of Washington for his PhD in Computer Science. After much deliberating, he decided to stay at CMU where he will be the lead instructor for a required Intro to Comp Sci class at CMU with 130 students in it.

We feel that RPS prepared him very well for college and we are confident that our second son will have similar success. Once again, thank you for everything.
