6th Graders Reach New Heights on Annual Trip to Camp Bernie

6th Graders Reach New Heights on Annual Trip to Camp Bernie

Our sixth graders recently had an unforgettable adventure on the 6th Grade Camping Trip at Camp Bernie. Tucked away in the woods far from the distractions of everyday life in Port Murray, NJ, the camp is the perfect place for our students to try new things and push themselves in ways they might not have thought possible before.

Over the course of the two-day trip, our students hiked up Point Mountain and took in the incredible views from the top. They learned some survival skills, working together to build shelters out of nearby boughs and branches. They surely left Camp Bernie feeling more confident after scaling the camp’s 40-foot climbing and rappelling tower, encouraged by their friends cheering from the ground. Of course, no camping trip would be complete without enjoying s'mores around a crackling campfire.

All that being said, this trip isn’t just about outdoor activities. This time together as a class is the perfect opportunity for the kids to get to know their classmates and teachers and forge lasting bonds. The experience at Camp Bernie will undoubtedly stay with our sixth graders throughout the rest of this school year and beyond.

The Sixth Grade had an incredible time at Camp Bernie, but don't take our word for it. Please enjoy some pictures and videos below that demonstrate just how fun the trip was for all involved.
