Advanced Placement Program
In 2018
- 20 AP courses were offered to the Class of 2018 (plus 2 post-AP courses)
- 423 AP exams were administered to RPS students on campus.
- 183 RPS students, or 62% of students in grades 10-12, opted to sit for an AP exam.
- More than half of our sophomores sat for at least one AP exam.
-46% of all RPS students sitting for an AP exam in 2018 qualified as an AP Scholar.
-37 students were named AP Scholars with Distinction (scored 3 or higher on 5 or more APs, 3.5 average).
-17 students were named AP Scholars with Honors (scored 3 or higher on 4 or more APs, 3.25 average).
-31 students were named AP Scholars (scored 3 or higher on 3 or more APs).

Academic Recognition and Application Process
More than 100 colleges and universities send representatives to Rutgers Prep annually to meet personally with our graduating students.
In recent years, Bucknell University, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, and Purdue University have each selected Rutgers Prep to host their central New Jersey regional evening program for prospective students.
88% of last year’s seniors applied to at least one college through an early action, early decision, or priority application program.
85% of the Class of 2018 had good news in their pocket before they headed home on winter break (meaning they had received at least one offer of admission as a result of filing an application through an early or rolling admissions plan).
73% of last year's seniors are attending their first or second choice college or university.
