Whether their fitness goals include weightlifting, HIIT, cardio, pilates, or yoga, our newly renovated fitness center offers a spacious setting for students to stay in peak condition and utilize the diverse array of equipment outfitted in the room, including: rowing machines, spin bikes, treadmills, kettlebells, battle ropes, half racks with olympic bars, Cybex machines, and a 6' x 60' turf track with sled.
Use of the fitness center is incorporated into the physical education curriculum. It is also used by athletic teams as part of their training regimen, and is open after school to students just looking to improve their physical health.
The Field House is home to two full size gymnasiums, where championship banners line the Upper Gym, and the echoes of 50 years of cheers can be heard - even when no one is in the building. It is the home court for boys and girls basketball, and girls volleyball.
Also located in the Field House are the athletic offices, boys and girls locker rooms, fitness center, wrestling room, and the athletic training room.
In 2005, Rutgers Preparatory School was a frontrunner in anticipating the value of a synthetic field turf on our Campus. Dellapietro Field has hosted varsity boys lacrosse players on their way to a 2013 NJSIAA State Championship, Faculty and Seniors vying for bragging rights in an annual football game, 3rd graders learning a new drill in gym class, and all levels of athletes in between. It is also the home field for girls lacrosse, and boys and girls soccer.
In December 2017, a new artificial surface was laid, complete with Argonaut artwork in the center, providing a high performance platform for our student athletes, with shock absorbing materials, even footing, and easy maintenance.
In addition to the synthetic turf, Rutgers Prep also has two grass practice fields for teams to use.
Rutgers Prep has five hardcourt tennis courts on a multi-level footprint, giving fans the opportunity to watch more than one match from an optimal vantage point. There is also on on-site tennis pavilion with bathrooms, water, storage, and shelter from the weather.
Rutgers Prep has two athletic trainers on staff, and a fully outfitted training room to support them in their effort to keep our student-athletes in optimal health, both on and off the field.
Baseball and Softball
Situated on the eastern border of campus are fields for baseball (equipped with a synthetic turf infield) and softball, which have served as training grounds for county and state championship teams, future NCAA ball players, and all American student-athletes.
Located in the Field House, the wrestling room offers a dedicated space for our wrestlers to hit the mat, train hard, and vie for the top position.
