The Rutgers Prep Boys Soccer team believes that if you work hard everyday in training, have a desire to compete with the best teams around, and sacrifice for the betterment of the team, success will follow. The team desires to play an attractive, possession style brand of soccer that is both fun to watch and fun to play in. Coach Laureti believes that paying attention to the little details is what separates the good teams from the great teams and the soccer team wishes to bring this mindset into their life both on and off the pitch.
The boys soccer team has enjoyed some great success over the past few years, capturing its first sectional championship in 2018. The team competes every year in multiple competitions throughout the year including the Somerset County Tournament, the NJISAA Prep B Tournament, and the NJSIAA State Tournament. The team also competes against some of the best public and private schools in the Skyland conference throughout the regular season, which is regarded as one of the best soccer conferences in the state of NJ.
Rutgers Prep Boys Soccer has been honored with several players being named to All Skyland Conference Teams, All Somerset County Teams, as well as a few players being named to the All State team. Several players have gone on to continue their academic and soccer careers at great universities such as William Paterson University, Temple University, Moravian College, and Eastern University.
