2025 Diwali Celebration Lights Up Rutgers Prep Campus

On Saturday, November 2, the Diwali Celebration once again brought light and warmth to the Rutgers Prep campus. Nearly 400 students, families, and faculty gathered to enjoy 12 dances, vocal performances, and student presentations that honored the traditions and spirit of Diwali.

Led by Upper School dance teacher Johsian Martinez and a dedicated group of Upper School choreographers, the show brought together performers from every division from Kindergarten all the way through our Senior Class, and even included an amazing dance by our faculty and staff. 

The evening concluded with a delicious dinner in the Dining Commons of traditional Indian dishes, from crispy pakora and samosas to paneer tikka masala and sweet gulab jamun for dessert.

The Diwali Celebration continues to be one of Rutgers Prep’s most cherished community events, lighting up what would otherwise be a dark November evening.
