Alum Mark Herwig ’17 Shares Cryptocurrency Knowledge with RPS Students
Mark Herwig ’17 visited Rutgers Prep to talk to students and faculty about his experience as a cryptocurrency investor and economics major in college. Mr. Herwig graduated from Rice University in Texas and currently resides in Florida. Mark was a former advisee of Mr. Loose, as well as his student in AP Economics class and captain of the golf team he coaches.
Mr. Herwig fielded wonderful questions from the students about what can be an esoteric topic. Dr. Cooper, his former college counselor at RPS, shared: “As I watched Mark field questions from our current students about cryptocurrencies, I couldn't help remembering the time we spent together poring over college essays and having conversations about the college that would best serve his needs. It was incredibly gratifying to hear that Rice had been such a perfect fit for Mark and has placed him on a fascinating professional path.”
Mr. Domanski had the following observation after the presentation: “It was great to have Mark back on campus speaking with our current students. I really appreciated Mark sharing his experience with a non-traditional, post-college path that has allowed him the freedom to experience the world in a way that he probably did not imagine when he enrolled at Rice University. It was a great exercise for our students to see how thinking outside the box can also be a positive and successful path toward their passions and interests.”
Well done, Mark, and thanks for coming back to share your expertise with our community!
