Christian Wright '22 Spends Summer Working at NASA
Christian Wright '22 has spent the summer as a project intern on the Mars Reconnaissance Team at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Among the projects he has been tasked with, Christian has been especially passionate about getting to work on the International Mars Ice Mapper (I-MIM), a collaboration between the Italian Space Agency (ASI), the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and NASA. The orbiter being developed during this mission will be able to detect sub-surface ice on Mars and pinpoint habitable environments and favorable landing spots for human touchdown on the Red Planet. In the fall, Christian will return to the University of Virginia, where he is studying aerospace engineering.
