Dr. Michael Gottlieb, Class of ’65, Talks with Biology Club
Biology Club students had the extraordinary privilege of connecting with Dr. Michael Gottlieb, RPS Class of ’65, via Zoom this past Wednesday.
As a UCLA professor and doctor in the early 1980s, Dr. Gottlieb was of the first physicians to identify AIDS cases in the United States. He went on to dedicate his life to caring for AIDS patients, supporting AIDS research, and developing programs and policies to address the AIDS crisis around the world.
In his presentation, Dr. Gottlieb demonstrated the compassion essential to good medical practice and offered students wisdom about finding the career path that works for them personally. This was tremendously impactful and led to great discussions among the students about what they are interested in and want to do in the future.
We are so thankful for our alumni who give back to our community and help the next generation of RPS students!
