First Grade Visits Area Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary
First Grade visited the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary in Short Hills last Friday.
There, our students learned about birds and what makes them different from other animals, including how they fly. They also got to touch an ostrich egg and look at rabbits, snakes, and turtles. A guided walk through the woods gave them a closer look at local trees and wildlife, and they even discovered woodpecker markings on the bark of a tree!
Thank you so much to the parent chaperones for helping make the day a success. Despite the damp weather, everyone really enjoyed the trip!
