Frederick Douglass Exhibit Goes on Display in Middle School

Frederick Douglass Exhibit Goes on Display in Middle School

As part of Black History Month, the Middle School is hosting a museum-quality exhibit that chronicles the life and accomplishments of one of the greatest figures in American history, Frederick Douglass. Thanks to the generous support of Head of School Dr. Loy and the Gilder Lehrman institute of American History, Rutgers Prep students have access to a six-panel display that features replicas from the museum's Douglass collection as well as items from the Yale University Revson Foundation Collection.

Last week, during Middle School morning meeting, Middle School Assistant Principal Stacy McMillen, a member of the history faculty at RPS, spoke about the early life of Douglass and told a captivated audience the story of his perilous escape from slavery.
