Melina Rebimbas '23 Selected for U-17 Women's Youth National Team World Cup Qualifying Roster

U.S. Under-17 Women’s Youth National Team (WYNT) head coach Natalia Astrain has selected a 20-player roster to represent the USA at the 2022 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship, set for April 23-May 8 in the Dominican Republic. Among this elite group is Melina Rebimbas, a junior at Rutgers Prep, who will play forward for the U-17 U.S. WYNT. The U-17s kick off the tournament on Saturday, April 23 vs. Grenada, take on Puerto Rico on Monday, April 25, and wrap up the group stage vs. Costa Rica on Wednesday, April 27. All of the U.S. group games will kick off at 4 p.m. ET.

“We have a talented group of players and good depth on this roster,” said Astrain. “Our coaching staff is excited to help guide these young players through this valuable experience in international competition as they navigate the format of these World Cup qualifying tournaments. We’ll prepare for each game one at a time as we progress toward our goals and I know we are all going to learn a lot during our time in the Dominican Republic.”
