Photography 4 Students See the Light (And Make Good Use of It, Too!)
Light is one of the most important elements of good photography. It's not surprising, then, that the Photography 4 course at Rutgers Prep is very much focused on the topic. In it students learn professional lighting techniques both indoors and out.
This fall, students have been taking advantage of especially-good weather to get outside on campus and learn different methods of using natural light, including blocking light, bouncing light, and diffusing light.
The studio has all the standard light-shaping equipment for students to borrow and practice making professional-level images. As is evident from the pictures, students had great fun taking turns playing the parts of both model and location photographer as well as getting shots of the campus around them.
Below you can see some of the photographs our students were able to capture and some behind-the-scenes looks of them harnessing all the bright sunlight this beautiful day afforded them.
