RPS Community Holds Isha's Day in Honor of Isha Agarwal ’25
This week, the Rutgers Prep community gathered to honor the life and memory of Isha Agarwal ’25 with a walk fundraiser. Isha’s Day, created by her classmates, is a way to carry forward her spirit and support others facing childhood cancer.
Students, faculty, and staff were joined on campus by Isha’s family for this special event, with proceeds from the fundraiser going to support Isha Cares, Inc., an organization founded by the Agarwal family to help families of children with cancer.
Isha Cares is committed to offering resources for treatment and prevention of childhood cancer. Its mission is to eliminate barriers to quality healthcare globally, with a particular emphasis on supporting vulnerable and underserved communities. It focuses on providing service and assistance to local families facing financial challenges due to a child battling cancer.
For those who knew Isha, she left a deep impression. A classmate shared, “Isha could not be here all the time due to her sickness, but when she was here, she was thrilled to be here."
"I remember once, Isha specifically asked me to walk to the architecture building. While for me this was another ordinary walk, I remember how excited Isha was to see another part of campus she had never seen before, pointing out the nature behind the building and the playground.”
Another student reflected on the meaning of Isha’s Day, saying, “We wanted to do something positive to remember Isha by, which is why we proposed Isha’s Day and have been celebrating it since sophomore year. Please, whether you knew her personally, saw her in the halls, or only knew her from the bench outside, remember her.”
