RPS Has Gone to the Dogs (In the Best Way Possible)
This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Lucky, a therapy dog from Creature Comfort Pet Therapy, to Rutgers Prep. Since being rescued from Puerto Rico through an adoption agency, Lucky has become a certified therapy dog and now visits area schools to improve student well-being.
There's a growing body of research that suggests that therapy dog programs can reduce student stress and help build connections within schools. While it may be anecdotal, it was definitely the case that anywhere Lucky went on campus, there was no shortage of smiles from students and faculty alike.
Therapy dogs from Creature Comfort Pet Therapy will be on campus every two weeks throughout this school year, and we're very much looking forward to those visits. A special thank you to Andrea Frain, Lucky's handler, and to the Health and Wellness department for making the visit possible!
