Rutgers Prep Students Take Third at NJ Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting
Three of our Advanced Waksman molecular biology students–Gauri Balasubramanian ’25, Jenica Benneaser ’25, and Suhani Jerath ’25–earned third place at the 70th NJ Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting at Kean University on Saturday.
They presented their original research project, “Pesticides and Plant Stress: Effects of Representative Pesticides on Plant Stress,” with a clear, well-organized poster and an impressive presentation that caught the attention of judges and fellow scientists alike.
Placing third in a competitive field is a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and scientific curiosity. They now have the opportunity to serve as New Jersey delegates to the competition at the national conference next February. We are proud of their achievement and excited to see where their passion for science takes them next!
