The Latest Big Collab Just Dropped at RPS

We know that you're all still excited about the collaboration between Coca-Cola and Oreo. Those new Coke Oreos actually fizz when you bite into them! It's crazy!

But get ready for the latest big "collab" that just dropped:

Lower School Spanish x Upper School Spanish

This week the students in Ana Arias' 3rd grade class and Amalia Gelpi's Spanish I class spent part of the afternoon together working on a scavenger hunt en español.

After getting to know one another with some questions like ¿Cómo te llamas? ("What's your name?") and ¿Cuántos años tienes? ("How old are you?"), the groups counted things like las sillas (chairs) and searched for common classroom items such los libros (books) and los lápices (pencils).

These collaborations have been fantastic for the students, both the younger ones and our high schoolers. It gives them more time using practical, everyday words and phrases in the Spanish language, which helps make sure that vocabulary words become something tangible and stick with them. It also helps students build connections to other people in our community, making them sentirse como en casa ("Feel right at home.")
