Upper School Art Students Receive Private Home Tour of Largest Collection of Modern Indian Art in U.S.

Upper School classes Photo 3 and Critique and Production 1 recently had the amazing opportunity to visit the Bindu Modern Gallery and see the photography exhibit Looking In | Looking Out, and other Modern and Contemporary paintings from the Gaur Collection of Modern and Contemporary Indian Art. The Gaurs are longtime supporters of Rutgers Prep and parents of RPS alumnae Priya '09 & Reva '03.

RPS Dean of Arts Scot Wittman '86 said there were three reasons why this was a unique and valuable opportunity for our students: "First, it is literally one of the largest private collections of modern Indian art in the country, comprising noteworthy names. Second, students were able to visit the collection during an extended lunch period because it is so close to campus. Third, Dr. Gaur, who invited us into his home, spoke at length about the famous works, and the famous artists who he knows personally. The pizza party was a bonus!”
